Beyond a Portfolio
Eroglu Studios needed a portfolio that could carry the studio’s point of view, not simply display its work. The goal was to create an experience with its own character: personal, tactile, occasionally strange, and intentionally distant from predictable conversion-first layouts.

Istanbul, Rendered Differently

The visual language draws from Istanbul through dithered imagery, historical references, stone textures, and a black-and-white palette cut with cybernetic red. The city is not used as background decoration. It becomes part of the site’s atmosphere and system.
Desktop Hero Interaction

A Site Built Around Interaction

The experience opens with a kinetic loading sequence: typography settles into place, disappears upward, and hands the motion to the navigation. The hero follows with a stone-led X-ray interaction that changes by device.
On desktop, holding and scrolling activates an alternate state. The environment simplifies, a Şahi cannon enters the scene, and selected images are stamped into the composition through the user’s movement.
On mobile, a double tap activates the same world through a different input model. The experience listens to motion sensors, firing objects into the screen as the device moves. Once every object has entered, they respond to shake and tilt through a lightweight physics system.
About & Contact Hoop interaction

Basketball as the Contact Mechanic

The contact section turns a familiar action into a small challenge. Instead of moving directly to a form, visitors drag a basketball and make a shot to enter the final interaction. It gives the site a personal signature while keeping the journey playful.

Desktop and Mobile Were Designed Separately

The mobile experience was not treated as a reduced version of desktop. Touch events, double tap, device motion, shake, and tilt were designed as their own interaction language, while desktop uses hold and scroll to create a different rhythm.
The result is one visual system with two native-feeling ways to explore it.

Performance Was Part of the Art Direction

The site was built from scratch and tested on older, demanding devices including iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy A10. The target was stable 60 FPS across the experience, including the animation-heavy hero and motion-driven mobile interactions.
Performance mattered as much as appearance. The interactions only work if they feel immediate.

No Boring Templates

The project is a statement of how Eroglu Studios approaches the web: custom-built, emotionally specific, and willing to create a little friction when it makes the experience more memorable.
“I hate boring templates” is not just a line in the About section. It is the rule behind the entire site.
