Building a hospitality concept designed to transition seamlessly from a premium coffee shop to a cocktail bar within the same physical space.

Switch CoffeeBar was built around a simple operational insight: coffee shops generate little revenue in the evening, while bars often sit underutilized during the day. The concept was designed to bridge both environments while allowing each to feel fully authentic in its own right.

As Founder and Creative Director, I led the project across concept development, branding, interiors, operations, menu strategy, and customer experience. The goal was not to create a coffee shop serving cocktails, or a bar serving coffee, but two distinct hospitality experiences operating within the same physical environment, depending on the time of day.

The transition between day and night became a core part of the brand system itself. Menus rotated at 5 pm, lighting shifted throughout the venue, signage changed externally, and movable architectural elements concealed coffee equipment in the evening while hiding alcohol during the day. Every decision was designed to reinforce the feeling that customers were entering a different environment depending on when they visited.

Alongside its hospitality offering, Switch also operated as a community-led space supporting artists, events, and minority-led groups, helping position the venue as both a premium destination and a creative social environment within the city.
