Adobe Portfolio to Framer Migration With Custom CMS

Her domain was about to expire. 50 portfolios worth of work were about to disappear.

Laura Zajdner is a graphic designer and illustrator with a massive body of work. 50 portfolio projects, each with 9-10 high-resolution images. Her site was on Adobe Portfolio, and the domain was about to cancel. If she didn't move fast, years of work would vanish. She needed everything migrated to Framer before the clock ran out.

On top of the urgency, she had specific requirements Framer doesn't handle natively: password protection on individual projects for confidential client work, and a custom image slider for her project galleries.

I started with a Framer template and customized it to match her brand and content structure. Then I built the parts Framer couldn't handle on its own.

Speed was the priority, but not at the cost of doing it right. I had to migrate 50 projects with hundreds of heavy images, restructure everything into Framer CMS, and build two custom features from scratch, all before the domain expired.

I set up the CMS so every project could be managed independently: title, description, images, category, and password status. Laura can now add, edit, reorder, and publish projects without touching the build.

Password protection per CMS item. Framer doesn't support page-level passwords on individual CMS entries. I wrote custom code that locks each project behind its own unique password, so Laura can share specific projects with specific clients without exposing the rest.

Custom image slider. Framer's native components don't support the kind of slider Laura needed for her project galleries. I built a custom slider with code that handles full-bleed image sequences the way a design portfolio actually needs them to work.

Beyond the custom builds, I handled responsive layouts across all breakpoints, domain connection, and multiple rounds of revisions across desktop and mobile.
