Adobe Portfolio to Framer Migration With Custom CMS and Password Protection
Project Overview
Laura Zajdner, a graphic designer and illustrator, needed to urgently migrate her portfolio from Adobe Portfolio to Framer. The goal was to use a Framer template as a base, restructure the site for scalability, and enable password-protected projects for client confidentiality.
The project was time-sensitive and required rapid execution, clear communication, and technical problem-solving beyond standard template customization.
The Challenge and My Role
Challenges:
Tight deadline with an ASAP delivery requirement
Migration from Adobe Portfolio, not natively compatible with Framer
Need to preserve existing work structure while improving usability
Requirement for password-protected portfolio projects, which Framer does not support out of the box
Multiple review cycles and late-stage fixes across desktop and mobile
Domain visibility and indexing concerns post-launch
My Role:
Led the full migration from Adobe Portfolio to Framer
Customized the selected Framer template to fit the client’s content and workflow
Structured CMS-based portfolio items for easy future updates
Implemented password protection using custom React logic despite Framer limitations
Handled responsiveness, performance, and post-launch questions
Supported the client beyond delivery with fixes and enhancements
This was a hands-on execution role with both technical and advisory responsibility.
