The Challenge

Oze is here to build a thriving African economy. How? Small businesses.

Most businesses in Africa are run by small business owners, but they lack the necessary tools and capital to grow. Oze gives these owners a chance at success with a business app to track their transactions and access collateral-free loans.

But for a while, new users weren’t actively using the app. No activity. No growth. A stagnant economy.

Oze needed a better way to get these business owners hooked to the app - right from sign up.

The results? -> New users entered 40% more transactions right on day 1 of getting the app.

A couple of user interviews and paper sketches later, I mapped out a 3-step experience to engage new users, get them started quickly and build their momentum.

We kept the sign up process short and sweet with 6 simple questions because 16 was just not it.

Oze had just gotten a rebrand to reflect their fun and friendly personality! So I brought over the bold colors, 3D assets and friendly tone to the new app experience.
