Ocho Portas Brand Identity Design

Ocho Portas is a luxury restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, inside a restored 1870 building. The space carries deep historic value, once serving as a marketplace and later a social hub. Today, it is being reborn as an elegant, vibrant venue offering Mediterranean cuisine, creative cocktails, and live music.

The goal of this project was to design a brand identity that reflects both the elegance of the past and the sophistication of the present. The name “Ocho Portas” comes from the eight imposing doors on the building’s façade and carries rich numerological symbolism: abundance, balance, and continuity. The challenge was to capture this heritage while creating a versatile and modern brand that works across print, digital, and physical applications.

The outcome is a brand identity that honors the historic soul of the building while positioning Ocho Portas as a contemporary culinary landmark. It feels exclusive yet welcoming, refined yet approachable, and above all timeless. This project was not only about creating a logo, but about shaping a visual universe that reflects the magic of a space reborn.
