Problem:
The startup was facing trouble in deciding the amount to be raised in the seed round due to inaccurate and unrealistic financial speculations.
Action:
I built the entire financial model from scratch. I incorporated the pricing strategy with all the relevant factors (missing before) in the acquisition funnel before diving into the revenue model. This properly reflected the different nuts-and-bolts of the business in the financial model.
Result:
The amount of seed money to be raised and time-frame to sustain the cash was clear. Moreover, the redesigned financial model helped to highlight industry-specific KPIs (MRR, ARR, churn, NDR, Burn Multiple, LTV:CAC) to the investors in order to get a decent valuation.
