Boop - Kickstarter launch project





Boop is a pocket-sized remote to help you mute, screen share, & control your video so you always know when your mic or video is on. It has 3 simple buttons to let you:

• Turn on/off your mic
• Turn on/off your camera
• Turn on/off your screen sharing

The goal of this project was to successfully launch the product you see above on Kickstarter(a crowdfunding platform).

My Role

In order to achieve the business goal of launching the product on Kickstarter, my role was to help the team execute its marketing strategy and guide them along the way by making the best decisions possible. The main task was to build an email list of a certain amount of people who were intrigued by the product and willing to support it on Kickstarter. This would help ensure that the product was fully/successfully funded when we went live on the crowdfunding platform.

My actionable tasks included:

• Facebook ads testing (copy + image)
• Preparing a landing page for people to join our Kickstarter waitlist.
• Preparing a PR and media kit.
• Outreach to relevant media publications and tech influencers for a feature/review.
• Conducting organic social media activity.
• Writing emails for the Kickstarter campaign to drive conversion.
• Ideating and writing the content for the final Kickstarter page.
• Managing day-to-day activities of all of the above to get things done in time.

While we expected to do better, we were able to successfully complete our funding goal on Kickstarter as you can see in the link above. This was Phase 1 of the project. It will be completed once all the backers who pledged for Boop receive their product by July 2023.

The next phase of the project will involve developing the product to add Bluetooth functionality and then figuring out the further steps to distribute it.
