CharterTV is fully written in Objective-C, a powerful programming language that ensures smooth performance on iPhones and iPads. CoreData is employed for efficient data storage and retrieval, enabling the app to manage large amounts of data effectively. Integration with Cisco content management allows for the downloading and decoding of TV content, ensuring users can enjoy their favorite shows and movies offline. This combination of technologies provides a reliable and user-friendly platform for accessing cable TV content on the go.
The cable television companion and consumption iOS application was developed to provide users with access to live, VOD, and downloadable cable TV content. The application ensures optimal performance and seamless integration with iOS devices. CoreData is used for efficient data management, while Cisco content management systems enable the downloading and encoding of asset information for offline playback.
I initially joined the team as the second in-house iOS Developer. I helped grow the team to over 9 iOS developers, that worked in tandem with the Android team to encapsulate the full mobile device market. We heavily integrated with third party DRM services to prevent piracy and ensured a high-performance, user-friendly application that supports both real-time streaming and offline playback. This project significantly enhanced the client's service offerings, delivering a comprehensive and convenient viewing experience to their customers.
