Goalden Hour

A goal-driven productivity tool that helps combine scheduling, task management and self-improvement so that people can bring their goals & good habits to the forefront of their planning process

The Challenge:

The main challenge (and the reason I was brought on) was that Goalden hour was trying to build an app version of their MVP product for their targeted market. But creating a mobile version of their website based product was causing issues in the UX architecture and overall flow blending the productivity side of Goalden hour, without overwhelming the mindfulness aspect.
With this challenge in mind, we believe that re-designing the MPV and creating a mobile-first product was the best route. Though this late presented challenges in redesigning the flow and more requirements for the overall product, It also allowed me creative freedom for the UI and allowed us (as a team) to define our most important elements for our users when using this app.

My Part of this Project:

The Solutions:

Here are a couple of examples of the high-level problems I solved when redesigning the Goalden Hour app
Fixing the overall design of Goalden hour so it looked less like google calendar, and more aligned between the productivity apps currently out and the calmness of mindfulness apps.
Allowing users to easily be able to add to their schedule from the two defined sections of the productivity app.
Adding an "inspiration" page to our app so that new users can get a clear idea of how a goal will interact with tasks/routines as well as help Goalden Hour work with affiliated brands.
The Outcome:
After working with Goalden Hour on this redesign for the mobile app, Goalden Hour was able to use these designs for several pitches for investing opportunities, which has allowed them to get investing of 100k (with an overall goal of 1.5 million through investors by August 2020). They have also partnered with the University of portland, Portland community college, Epicodus and Auburn University to allow students access to the web-based program and to be able to share goals with their counsellors. We are continuing with developing the beta app and creating a "personal coach" aspect to help young adults manage their goals by professionals.
