HOW I IMPROVED COMMERCIAL OUTCOMES BY CHANGING THE DECISIONS BEHIND THE ACTIVITY.

Growth isn't always about doing more. Across different projects, I identified opportunities to improve results by changing how an existing advantage was used, how activity was sequenced, or how potential customer friction was addressed.
The execution changed in each case, but the starting point was the same: understanding what could improve the commercial outcome before deciding what to do next.

AT A GLANCE

Challenges: Competitive Positioning · Campaign Performance · Customer Friction
Areas: Commercial Strategy · Campaign Planning · Customer Journey
Approach: Opportunity · Sequence · Decision-Making
Results: +24% revenue · +35% CTR · 22% operational improvement

THE CHALLENGE

Businesses often have more opportunity within what they are already doing than they realise. The issue can be how an existing advantage is being used, whether activity is happening in the right order, or whether customers are encountering unnecessary friction before they can act.
Across these projects, I needed to identify what was limiting the intended outcome and what needed to change to improve it.

THE APPROACH

I worked backwards from the commercial outcome rather than starting with a predetermined tactic. That meant looking at what the business already had, how customers were likely to respond and where the existing approach was creating a missed opportunity. From there, I changed the strategy according to the constraint, strengthening competitive leverage, restructuring campaign sequencing or removing friction from the customer journey.

RESULTS ACROSS PROJECTS

Using an existing advantage to strengthen the commercial opportunity. I identified where the business already had an advantage that wasn't being used to its full potential and changed how it was positioned within the customer experience.
Connecting activity so each step strengthens what comes next. Rather than treating individual campaign activity as separate executions, I structured the sequence around how customers move from attention and consideration towards action.
Addressing potential barriers before they interrupt the customer journey. I looked at where questions, uncertainty or unnecessary effort could prevent customers from progressing and brought the information or action they needed forward in the journey.

KEY OBSERVATION

Better commercial outcomes don't always require more activity. Sometimes the opportunity is already there. The improvement comes from recognising what is being underused, happening in the wrong order or making the customer's decision harder than it needs to be.

BUSINESS IMPACT

This approach helped turn existing activity into stronger commercial outcomes without defaulting to more channels, more campaigns or more spend. By improving the decisions behind the execution, the businesses could make better use of what they already had and create a clearer path towards the outcome they wanted.
