Roost — Personal Film Library

A personal film library

Roost is a full-stack personal film-library application I designed and built to make a growing collection easy to browse, organize and revisit. The experience connects a home dashboard, collection views, favorites, watched films and custom lists in one consistent navigation system.

Interface and collection workflow

The gallery moves from the poster-tile library to the sign-in screen, a curated comedy list and a movie-detail modal with artwork and metadata. Search, genre filters and alternate views make the same collection useful in different ways. A dark navy palette, warm gold accents and a compact visual hierarchy keep the focus on choosing and organizing films.

Full-stack implementation

My work spans interface design, a plain-JavaScript frontend and a Python/Django backend with SQLite persistence. The application includes account-scoped libraries and lists, authentication, movie-metadata provider adapters and CSV export. These screenshots show my own collection in the working application, with film metadata and poster artwork supplied by TMDB. This is self-initiated product work.
