"Create a line of collectibles for the product Delta Q Qids."
The client was Delta Q, a well-known Portuguese coffee company, and Delta Q Qids was the product they wanted to promote. Delta Q Qids are fake coffee capsules for kids meant to simulate the grown-up experience of drinking coffee without actually drinking coffee. They wanted to create a line of collectibles for their brand.
QAPS is an online platform for digital collectible cards. The name was inspired by "capsules" and the letter "Q", which is a big part of Delta Q's brand language.
Every box of Delta Q Qids has a code for 10 Qoins (the made-up currency for QAPS). Kids would login to QAPS to redeem their Qoins and exchange them for cards. Cards would be dropped in theme packs and would be online for a determined period of time, unless purchased.
There is also a parallel marketplace for accessories that the card character can wear. This way, kids can customize their cards and brands can use this platform to advertise their products to a very specific target.
There is also a lot of potential for drop collabs with brands that appeal to kids.
