Full Kajabi Platform Migration for Drawing America

Drawing America is an art education platform offering recorded courses, live classes, and in-person workshops. This 4+ month project involved a complete migration from WordPress to Kajabi, including a new website, 50+ courses, custom course filtering, offers, events, community, automations, and the migration of 9,000+ student contacts.

We started by mapping out the full website and user journey before moving into visual design.

The sitemap helped us define how recorded courses, live online classes, in-person events, instructors, coaching, reviews, and community would work together inside one Kajabi ecosystem.

This stage was especially important because we were restructuring an existing platform rather than simply creating a new website.

Before moving into the full website design, we defined the visual direction for the new platform – including the color palette, typography, and overall look and feel.

This gave us a consistent foundation to carry into the Figma designs and later into the Kajabi build.

Once the structure and visual direction were established, we designed the website in Figma.

The design covered the main website experience, including the homepage, course discovery pages, instructors, reviews, contact, blog, and supporting system pages.

A major focus was making a large course library feel approachable and easy to navigate while keeping the experience visually connected to Drawing America’s artistic identity.

After design approval, we developed the platform in Kajabi with extensive customizations using Liquid, CSS, and JavaScript.

One of the most complex parts of the build was the custom course filtering and search experience. With 50+ courses across recorded, live online, and in-person formats, the standard Kajabi setup wasn’t enough.

We created a custom filtering system that allows visitors to explore courses by criteria such as course type, skill level, and instructor, making a large catalog much easier to navigate.

We also developed reusable sections and templates so the Drawing America team could continue adding and managing content after launch.

Beyond the website itself, we built the commerce and course infrastructure behind it.

The project included migrating and configuring 50+ recorded courses, setting up in-person classes and live online cohorts, creating Kajabi Offers, configuring checkout flows, and connecting courses with the appropriate purchase experience.

We also created reusable structures for recurring events and classes, making future course and event setup easier for the internal team.

The project also included setting up the Kajabi Community, migrating 9,000+ existing student contacts, configuring coaching products, and creating supporting automations.

We built welcome and nurturing flows along with reusable event automation templates, bringing more of Drawing America’s website, education, sales, and community experience into one connected platform.

Drawing America was a 4+ month project that went far beyond a typical Kajabi website build.

We worked through the entire process – sitemap and platform architecture, visual direction, Figma design, custom Kajabi development, advanced course filtering, 50+ course migrations, Offers, events, community, automations, and student data migration.

The result is a more structured and scalable Kajabi platform designed to support a large and continuously growing art education ecosystem.
