WealthFlow is an all-in-one financial platform designed to bridge the gap between simple banking and sophisticated investing. The goal was to empower users to manage their daily spending while simultaneously growing their wealth through automated "pockets," stock market access, and high-interest savings accounts.
🔍 The Challenge
Fintech apps often suffer from "feature creep," making it difficult for new users to know where to start. My challenge was to:
Simplify Onboarding: Create a step-by-step "Get Set Up" flow that doesn't feel overwhelming.
Visualize Complex Data: Make stock performance and interest yield easy to understand at a glance.
Encourage Habit Building: Design features like "Round Ups" and the "Naughty Rule" to automate savings behavior.
🎨 Key Design Solutions
1. Progress-Driven Onboarding
The "Get Set Up" module uses a circular progress ring (e.g., "4 of 5 Complete") and a clear checklist.
The Logic: By gamifying the onboarding process with a rocket icon and clear milestones, I reduced abandonment rates during the critical bank-linking phase.
2. Multi-Pocket Savings Architecture
I designed a custom "Splitter" tool that allows users to allocate funds into different "pockets" (Rainy Day, Global Tech, Summer Funds).
User Centricity: The UI uses simple plus/minus controls to let users manually balance their savings, giving them a sense of total control over their financial future.
3. Investment & Stock Listings
For the investment side, I used high-contrast cards with color-coded performance indicators (Green for growth, Red for dips).
Design Decision: The "Big Players" and "Tech Companies" sections categorize high-volume stocks, helping novice investors discover opportunities without feeling lost in a massive directory.
