Unifying Honeywell's building products into one unified platform - One Portal.

Cloud-enabled management of entire building complexes and sites, Honeywell Forge for Buildings can connect, collect and control every asset in your building, backed by AI and ML models to get data where it’s needed most.

The Platform Honeywell Connected Building is a comprehensive SAAS product suite aimed at building system operation and management. The suite consists of 9 products divided between the 6 operational tenants, i.e. sustainability, operational efficiency, safety, resilience, compliance, and occupant experience.

The Problem Area The existing products from Honeywell existed in silos and lacked a common launch platform, navigation between verticals, management and overview controls.
The UX patterns for the individual portal were also outdated and lacked architectural and visual coherence.
Guiding Principles: Data Legibility Information should be upfront, easy to understand and navigate Cues from skeuomorphism Make data visualisations easier to navigate and for the users to visualise by adding skeuomorphism elements Unification The global level objective was to unify all offerings under a common umbrella called One Portal, and the container style should accomodate and scale to individual requirements for each product

Output All products in the suite were tied together with a common launcher, updated data visualisation and component library, The navigation was streamlined into a system we termed 'horizontal & expand'.
Pages were separated using multi-level tabs, giving maximum context per page. Nuisance or more information could be accessed via drilldown with a global-level breadcrumb system at the top.
