Truckmen Removals is a widely-loved Canberra removalist providing affordable, reliable and efficient removalist services to the local community.
Following a successful SEO collaboration in 2021 and 2022, Truckmen Removals approached LeadGen Digital Services to design a new website to establish and build upon the Truckmen’s reputation as a professional and trustworthy removalist brand.
The new website drew from Truckmen’s strong brand design, utilising a powerful red and black colour palette and bold heading font to create a memorable user experience.
Removalists are notorious for dodgy, unreliable communication and service. We needed to show how the Truckmen were different. Building trust with potential customers was therefore central to the design. This was achieved in a number of ways, resulting in hundreds of website views per month from local Canberrans and dozens of quote requests.
Here’s how we built trust with the user
Website copy was written in a conversational tone
We spoke directly to the user, addressing common concerns about removalists head-on. This established a level of trust that carries through to the overall experience of using the Truckmen’s services. The written copy expresses a mix of reliability, confidence, exuberance and professionalism, all hallmarks of Truckmen’s service offering.
We provided detail
The website provides a significant level of information, allowing customers to delve into the details of the Truckmen’s services and their level of quality and professionalism.
We used real photos and videos
The site relies almost exclusively on real photos and videos of the Truckmen in action as opposed to stock images. Embedded video footage displays the care and professionalism of how Truckmen actually conducts their moves on the ground.
We integrated a review widget
The Truckmen are widely popular, with an average Google review rating of 4.9 across 95 reviews as of December 2023. The website design capitalises on this, integrating a review widget to prominently display the brand’s five star reviews and cement trust with the user.
We developed a custom quote calculator
Additionally, the site contains both a detailed long-distance request form and a quote calculator for local moves. The quote calculator provides an unprecedented level of transparency, with users getting a reasonably accurate estimate without needing to contact Truckmen directly.
Our lead magnet
Our lead magnet solution, a customised online quote calculator and booking system, has resulted in a significant inflow of qualified leads and bookings. The calculator is unique for the removalist industry, calculating a precise quote based on a number of variables (e.g. number of floors, number of items etc). This builds trust by demonstrating transparency and reassuring clients they won’t be slugged with a huge bill at the end of the job.
The calculator is linked to an online booking system integrated with the Truckmen calendar, enabling clients to seamlessly book in a move without a phone call. The online calculator has been a huge success, consistently generating 2-3 fresh leads on a daily basis.
Optimising the Truckmen’s Google Maps Listing
We completed a comprehensive GMB SEO campaign for Truckmen with stunning results. Truckmen had an established GMB with plenty of positive reviews. However, the listing was not optimised for the correct keywords, languishing on Page 3 for an important keyword, ‘Canberra removals.’
We optimised every aspect of Truckmen’s GMB, crafting a series of GMB optimised posts, products, services, images and videos, and employing a number of advanced SEO techniques. Our efforts resulted in a significant boost to Truckmen’s rankings, increasing to fifth position within two weeks of campaign commencement.
Truckmen is now firmly established on Page 1 of Google Maps for important keywords, outranking several national removalist companies.
