Design the UX for a mortgage CRM platform that handles the full loan lifecycle: from lead intake through underwriting, document collection, and closing. The platform needed to serve loan officers, processors, and borrowers through different portal views.
The Approach
Mapped out user flows for each role before touching any UI. Loan officers need pipeline visibility and quick actions. Processors need document tracking and status updates. Borrowers need a simple portal where they upload docs and track progress. Designed everything in Figma with Claude and Google AI Studio assisting on information architecture decisions.
Key Features
Loan pipeline management — kanban-style board with drag-and-drop stage progression and filtering by loan officer, status, or date
Borrower portal — a simplified view where borrowers upload documents, e-sign forms, and track their application status
Document workflow engine — checklist-driven document collection with status indicators, version history, and automated reminders
LOS module integration — designed to plug into existing Loan Origination Systems without requiring a full platform switch
Role-based dashboards — different home screens for loan officers, processors, and managers with relevant KPIs
The Result
A comprehensive UX system for a mortgage CRM that reduces the back-and-forth between loan officers and borrowers. The design handles complex financial workflows while keeping the interface clean enough for non-technical users.
