Challenge

Creating an intuitive, visually engaging interface that seamlessly integrated a physical QR-code business card into the app experience, clearly conveying the pass-it-forward chain and reward redemption flow. Additionally, designing two distinct landing pages for B2B and B2C audiences, along with email templates that effectively engaged users as part of a cohesive system.

Process

1 Ideation & requirement gathering

Before starting the project, I defined how QR-code cards would work: clean, minimal business cards designed to spark curiosity, requiring users to pass the card forward and have others register to activate the reward chain.

2. Key design decisions

Visual concept
To boost user engagement, I used a clean and simplistic style with a blue color scheme, incorporating elements that would make the app visually inviting yet functional. The app was also designed to be easily customisable to create a ‘white-label’ solution.

Special offers
While the chain-reward system was the primary focus, I added a ‘Special Offers’ feature, allowing users to explore additional rewards independently. This gave the app flexibility, making it more appealing for users who preferred redeeming rewards directly.

Chain visualisation
One of the most challenging parts of the design was visually representing the "chain" in a way that was intuitive without being overly instructional. I implemented a step-by-step flow within the interface, subtly guiding the user through the process.

3 Multi-platform presence

The project needed two promotional landing pages, each targeted at its specific audience. The B2B page highlighted benefits for businesses looking to engage customers, while the B2C page emphasized rewards and ease of use for individual users.

To accompany the app, I have designed email templates for key interactions, such as notifying users of their reward status and prompting them to continue the chain. These were crafted to complement the app’s visual style and keep users engaged.

Solution

The final solution included high-fidelity designs of the mobile app, landing pages, and email templates, as well as a complete UI kit for consistent development.
