The Art of Brokenness: A Spiritual Reflection

I know what must have crossed your mind when you saw the title of this post, but trust me, it’s not what it looks like. The art of brokenness is a place of total surrender to God. A place where you are not afraid to say that you cannot carry on anymore, and admit that you need the help of the Holy Spirit to guide you along the way.

Many times, we may have come off as “independent” or somewhat “self-sufficient” and in the real sense, you’re just a cry for help away from your answers. Life may be tough, the days May be rough but with God, His Help is always, always Enough ( yeah I went there😅).

Brokenness means a lot of things. For some it may be heartbreak, depression, a response to sin or even imperfection.

Brokenness before God is having a crushed spirit, in admittance of your lack of self sufficiency and recognizing that you need His help.

Here’s one scripture that, you must always remember:

Matthew 11:28-30

28”Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

In brokenness, lies a gradual transformation. For as long your spirit is willing and not living in denial, you begin to realize that all you needed was more of Gods help, and Less of Yours.

For every state of Brokenness, is a place of complete solitude just waiting at the other side. And remember that God is always ENOUGH!!!
