Goals
Be different. Be bold. Be Brutalist.
The goal behind Brutalist was to create a Webflow template that embodies the daring, non-conformist nature of brutalist design while offering modern, functional features. We aimed to deliver a template that would empower creatives to take control of their digital presence, from agencies and studios to solo freelancers.
We wanted the template to be 100% customizable without the need for custom code, making it accessible for all skill levels.
Insight
One of the most fascinating insights we gained during the development of Brutalist was the surprising versatility of brutalist design. While often viewed as niche or avant-garde, we found that, with the right approach, it could appeal to a wide array of creative professionals—from agencies and studios to solo freelancers.
The unconventional, raw aesthetic was balanced with modern functionality, which made Brutalist more accessible and adaptable than we initially expected. Early adopters loved how the off-the-grid layouts and seamless video showcases offered a fresh, engaging way to present their work, making their portfolios stand out in a crowded market.
Additionally, users appreciated the template’s flexibility, noting how easy it was to customize without needing any coding knowledge. This was a key insight, as many users were able to maintain the bold, raw design while adapting the template to their unique brand styles.
Overall, the success of Brutalist lies in its ability to combine an edgy design aesthetic with practical, user-friendly features—a balance that truly resonated with the creative community.
