MercedesBenz:CGI

A personal CGI exploration of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GTR — focused on realism, lighting, and emotion. This project was a creative deep dive into high-performance automotive design through 3D visualization.

This project started as an experiment in control — of light, material, and motion.

I wanted to recreate the sheer precision and raw presence of the AMG GTR inside Blender, pushing realism without overdoing it. Every reflection, shadow, and camera angle was crafted to tell a story of power, elegance, and speed. It’s less about showing a car — and more about capturing what it feels like to stand in front of one.

Concept

The core concept was to blend elegance with intensity. The AMG GTR has a form that doesn’t rely on noise — its power lies in its presence. I chose a minimal studio-inspired setting that focuses attention on the curves, reflections, and surface behavior of the car.
Color played a key role — a muted copper-orange with satin finish to highlight the car’s contour without overwhelming it. The lighting approach was inspired by high-end automotive photography, using soft natural reflections against clean architectural textures. Every line, gloss, and gradient was fine-tuned to echo Mercedes-Benz’s DNA: precision, confidence, and control.

Process

The base model was refined and optimized for rendering in Blender’s Cycles, focusing on achieving photoreal surface behavior and accurate material response. The lighting setup used a mix of HDRI skylight and custom area lights to highlight contours and reflections without overpowering the form.
Every texture — from the carbon fiber weave to the satin coat and rubber finish — was calibrated manually to ensure material authenticity. Post-processing in Photoshop involved fine-tuning contrast, bloom, and tonal range to achieve a high-end automotive photography look. The final render was an exercise in control: precision without clutter, realism without exaggeration.

Closing Thoughts

This render became more than a technical test — it turned into a reminder of why I love creating in 3D: every reflection, every surface, every photon tells a story when shaped with intent.
