Optimization & Theme Engineering for $30K+/Month Baby Wear Brand

Buckle Me Baby is a high-volume baby fashion brand operating on a direct-to-consumer model. Because their primary audience consists of busy parents browsing through social media links on smartphones, mobile user experience directly determines brand profitability.

RESULTS SNAPSHOT

• $30K+/month sustained storefront revenue • Seamless mobile purchasing journey built for target audience demographics • Fixed critical layout bugs across major iOS and Android viewport sizes • Faster tap-to-cart speed with restructured mobile navigation and sticky actions • Clean Liquid codebase optimized for section-based merchant editing

MY ROLE

Shopify Mobile UX Specialist & Senior Theme Developer Responsibilities: Mobile-first theme re-engineering, storefront layout refactoring, visual hierarchy optimization, mobile navigation redesign, and conversion barrier reduction.

THE CHALLENGE

Despite strong marketing campaigns, the site suffered from mobile friction: broken responsive breakpoints, slow-loading media, hard-to-tap CTA buttons, and clunky navigation. Mobile visitors experienced delay and visual misalignment, leading to cart drop-offs. The client needed a mobile-first theme transformation to maximize return on ad spend.

WHAT I OWNED

• Mobile Layout & Theme Engineering: Re-architecting responsive layouts, fixing CSS grid/flexbox alignment, and creating mobile-optimized Liquid sections. • Navigation & Mobile UX: Rebuilding the mobile drawer navigation, category filters, and quick-add capabilities. • Product Detail Page (PDP) Optimization: Re-structuring media sliders, variant selectors, size guides, and sticky cart buttons for one-thumb mobile interaction. • Storefront Bug Remediation: Auditing and resolving cross-browser display issues across iOS Safari and Android Chrome devices.

TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION

• Liquid & CSS Refactoring: Rewrote global stylesheets to use clean CSS flex/grid structures, replacing inline styles and broken layout rules. • Mobile-First Interactions: Built a lightweight, touch-optimized product gallery slider using modern JavaScript that loads instantly without visual layout shifts (CLS). • Variant & Add-to-Cart Logic: Implemented sticky "Add to Cart" bars on mobile views, allowing users to select sizes and colors without scrolling back up long product descriptions. • Shopify 2.0 Section Modularization: Re-structured the home and product templates into dynamic Shopify 2.0 sections, empowering the marketing team to quickly edit promotional banners without breaking theme layouts.

BEFORE → AFTER

• Clunky, misaligned mobile screens → Clean, mobile-first responsive design • Hidden size options and purchase CTAs → Sticky one-thumb mobile conversion bar • Hard-to-navigate mobile menus → Fast, structured drawer navigation • Unstable mobile layout → $30K+/month optimized storefront

BUSINESS IMPACT

By establishing a mobile-first UX structure, the store eliminated buyer friction for its primary traffic demographic. Parents could easily evaluate product safety features, choose sizes, and check out on mobile devices, supporting sustained monthly revenues of over $30K.

WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS

This project highlights my focus on mobile-first commerce execution. I don't just build websites that shrink down to phone screens; I engineer mobile experiences around thumb placement, viewport constraints, and touch interactions to maximize conversion rates.
