Being the Social Media Lead for my Graphic Design program, I was assigned to arrange a Junior showcase to introduce my fellow classmates and I to our social media account.
Jan-Feb. 2022
I first assigned my team, Carlos Henriquez, Joanna Daria, Jacob Johnson, and Ally Tajudin, to each make a class logo. We later had the class vote on the favorite and by majority, Carlo's logo was chosen. With the elements of the logo, I knew I wanted the social media posts to have a similar layout. I then assigned Carlos and Joanna to be in charge of making the posts for the entire class, which also included a introduction and conclusion posts. Jacob and Ally were assigned to encourage our fellow classmates to turn in what was required as soon as possible.
After everything was layed out, this is how the carousel posts that were then posted on the main Graphic Design account. I was assigned to showcase my classmate's favorite projects and then a photo of us. Once the logistics were all planned out, in February, I began posting twice a day to showcase my class on the main graphic design, CSULB.GD.
Being my cohort’s Social Media Lead has helped me jump out of my comfort zone. This is the first time I decided to take a leadership position. Normally I listen and do what is told, but this time around I was giving out commands for my team to follow. Seeing how well my Junior Showcase went, I am excited to build my skills in social media marketing and design.
