Foodchain- the process to consume and to be consumed. The political struggle nowadays was seem to be so irrevocable, that even those who are wielding the scepter of goodness and change were pushed back. Karl Marx, the philosopher who established the meaning and impact of individual's status in the society he/she moved in. The philosophy greatly signifies the unproportionality of rights and conducts being dessiminated to the members of the so called society. While understanding the theory, I got myself a thought " what if the political culture being pinpointed in the philosophy of Marx existed explicitly nowadays?", goosebumps of mine emerges then eventually answered myself with "oh god". It is true that there were factions in the society where oppressors and those who are being oppressed, literally belonged. Karl Marx coined those opposing status as the the proletariat or those offspring producers, who are truly dependent to their labor force and the bourgeoisie who belongs to the middle rank which gains more rights and capitals through possessions. Marxism was basically one of those philosophies that keeps nudging us individuals, in order to come up with the awekening. I am part of the of the society and my family was one of its building block, somehow we are also oppresed by those who have political powers and roaring positions in the government. This kind of malice intoxicating the society must be stopped, but the question was "how". Yes, it can't be done in an instant, but maybe if we join hands and show dictatorship (the act of supremacy to gain equal share and rights for the common good), we can still moved the current political struggle that enveloping the beloved country. I'll move forward, until the dark streets I have walking clearly ends with lights.
The art appreciation professor of mine gave an obligation to reflect a certain society-reflecting movie entitled "Birdshot", to the idea of the philosopher Karl Marx. The stated movie was quite intriguing, maybe because of its real life correlation; wherein those who are under the Government suppresses those individuals who are trying to vocalize the biased dissociation of things, rights, and possessions throughout the society. The movie revolved in the acts being shared and showed by the two groups where main characters belonged; I can actually say that Diego (father/farmer), Maya (daughter), and the missing farmers were one of those proletarian Karl Marx spoke of, while the police officers and the individuals who ruled the Hacienda del Carmen belongs to the bourgeoisie or those who have powers and controls. It all started with the missing bus; a bus that driving the dictatorship of the proletariat - " Why I said such?" It is because the bus contained the raging farmers, trying to claim their own lands from the possession of Hacienda del Carmen's "crocodiles", by simply imposing a legal files of complaints to the court held in Manila. The immense excitement from my mind and personality began to flush out after seeing the inexplicable scenarios in the movie. Questions popped out asking "where did the bus went?," what happened to the passengers?" and other interrogatory sentences that can be derived from the movie happenings. It was unbearable that the missing farmers carried by the bus were to be found lying in a pit, cold and lifeless. I well observed and can conclude that elite kinds of individual can go rampage without giving a bit of concern to those "ants" they stepped on. Marx testified that these kind of individuals, just like the persons behind the Hacienda del Carmen was truly belonged to the upper class or the bourgeoisie.
I will now give sympathies to the tragic events being experienced by a father and his daughter from the cruel and one sided form of justice. Diego and Maya, undeniably belonged to the working class, wherein they depends only to what the society can give them. Having lack of political and social knowledge they still venture and try to be part of the cycle. The inevitable fate of these characters risen when Maya killed a Philippine eagle (Haribon) with a double barrel in the sanctuary where unauthorized personnel cannot wander in. It was against the law, yes it is; but what can law do to her, she was only a juvenile and a creature that knows nothing except to breath, eat, love, care and shoot birds. The incident that the girl plunged in was kept secret and the father admitted it as his own crime; but the police officers in the movie were quite a good sniffers - so they still doubted the innocence shown by Maya's father, Diego. The police officers being used in the movie were too irresponsible in utilizing the power and control that they have, so for me, I can undoubtedly say that they are under the term bourgeoisie. They rant and give suspicions until they came up with the thing/s they wanted to see and hear. The hasty generalization was clearly seen on their movement; convicted or not were treated as the same, as long as they can imitate the face of fair justice and responsibility.
