Project Background

The Jungle Scout Sales Estimator is a popular tool that helps Amazon sellers gauge monthly sales using a product’s Best Sellers Rank. Despite its value, the original design was limited by an outdated interface and minimal interactivity.
Recognizing the high traffic this page receives, the Marketing team saw an opportunity to both elevate the user experience and turn the Estimator into a powerful lead generation asset. This case study outlines the redesign process—highlighting key challenges, strategic decisions, and the measurable impact of the improvements.

Existing Challenge

The page’s design was outdated and visually inconsistent with the rest of the site, creating a fragmented user experience.
Despite strong traffic and engagement, the lead capture strategy was underperforming and failed to capitalize on user interest.
Conversion rates were low, with lead submissions falling below 1%.
Poor mobile optimization limited accessibility for on-the-go sellers who rely heavily on mobile devices.

Objectives & Success Metrics

Modernize the page to match the current website’s updated structure, content flow, and visual tone.
Introduce clearer calls-to-action and value-driven content to guide users toward sign-up or lead capture.
Refine the lead generation strategy to better align with user behavior and intent.
Target a 2.5%–3% increase in conversions in the first iteration.

Phase One: Analyzing User Behavior & Defining Scope

We began by collecting user data and behavior insights from the existing page to identify key friction points and opportunities for improvement.
Google Analytics:
440,000 total sessions, offering a robust dataset for analysis.
A low conversion rate of 0.12% underscored the need for UX and lead capture enhancements.
FullStory:
Users interacted with the tool an average of five times per session before exiting.
The lack of email capture or clear calls-to-action led to missed conversion opportunities—signaling the need for a more intentional engagement strategy.
In parallel, the team collaborated to define the project’s scope, timeline, and feasibility. This included two designers, two developers, and a product manager. We also established clear acceptance criteria early on to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables across teams.

Phase Two: Wireframing, Strategy, & Visual Impact

The redesign focused on improving usability and optimizing the user journey to better convert high traffic into leads. With the original page structure outdated, we reimagined the layout with development feasibility in mind—ensuring smooth handoff and implementation.
A key objective was refining the lead capture flow to maximize engagement and conversions. This included:
Limiting free tool usage to drive sign-up intent
Introducing a contextual pop-up form to collect emails
Enhancing CTA placement to guide user action
Building trust with testimonials and a verified Trustpilot badge
Clarifying and simplifying UI copy for greater accessibility and engagement
Together, these enhancements transformed the experience into one that’s both user-centric and conversion-focused.
Visual Design Strategy
While Jungle Scout’s brand identity was clear, the original design leaned heavily on neutral tones—resulting in a flat, overly minimal look.
To increase visual appeal and user engagement, we:
Introduced tertiary brand colors for depth and vibrancy
Designed custom assets that hinted at additional tool features—sparking curiosity
Created a more dynamic, inviting interface while staying on-brand
These visual updates helped reposition the page as a modern, high-impact touchpoint that not only informs—but converts.

Phase Three: Launch Results & Impact

The redesigned Sales Estimator page was well-received by stakeholders, who highlighted the improved user experience, clearer structure, and stronger engagement. The new flow aligns closely with Jungle Scout’s lead generation goals—positioning the page as both a valuable tool and a high-performing conversion asset.
