Aurus Books is an accounting and bookkeeping software designed to simplify financial management for small and medium-sized businesses. I was tasked with creating both a landing page and a full web application, including features like invoicing, expenses, client/vendor management, time tracking, CRM, and a client dashboard. The project culminated in a fully functional MVP, capturing the client’s vision and delivering a user-friendly design. The client’s enthusiastic response to seeing their idea realized was the highlight of the project.

Aurus Books was designed to be a game-changer in financial management for small to medium-sized businesses. Positioned as a user-friendly alternative to complex solutions like FreshBooks, Aurus Books aimed to streamline accounting and bookkeeping. The company sought to provide business owners, tech startups, and finance managers with a straightforward and efficient platform for financial management.

The client’s motivation for the project was driven by a strong desire to create a comprehensive and user-friendly platform that would simplify financial management for businesses. The aim was to develop a solution that effectively addressed the needs of business owners, tech startups, and finance managers. This commitment to creating an efficient tool propelled the development of a complete and functional MVP design, intended to serve as a foundation for raising development funds.

The design journey began with creating wireframes for essential features like invoicing, expenses, client/vendor management, and time tracking. Initially, I received an outdated MVP document from the client by mistake, leading to the realization that significant revisions were necessary.

Once the comprehensive 50-page document outlining the full scope of the project was provided, I integrated detailed features and functionalities into the design. Through close collaboration with the client, the design was refined and perfected, resulting in a polished and functional MVP.

The final deliverables included a fully designed landing page and web application, featuring a clean and intuitive interface that made financial management tasks straightforward and accessible. Although the project did not progress beyond the MVP stage, the design effectively captured Aurus Books’ vision and laid a strong foundation for future development. Despite my hopes for the project to move into full development, the outcome was a product I’m genuinely proud of.

The most significant impact of the project was witnessing the client’s excitement and satisfaction upon seeing the fully functional MVP. This project was a great opportunity to turn complex ideas into a design that’s easy to use and understand, reaffirming my commitment to creating impactful solutions in the tech and finance space.
