Our blue economy stakeholders need a way to easily access wind, wave, and other metocean data and reports specific to their projects, activity, and location because they want to efficiently develop and finance their offshore wind renewable projects.

3️⃣ Background

The Goal

By designing a tool that gathers wind, wave, and other metocean data and shows them in a organised way, blue economy stakeholders will be able to efficiently develop and finance their offshore wind projects.

The Why

It is extremely difficult to monitor wind, waves and other metocean conditions. Current solutions use unreliable coarse data from models, or expensive and time-consuming in-situ measurements. This makes measurements and development activities slow and expensive.

Business Opportunity

It is possible to offer a competitive web app that supplies metocean data comparable to in-situ campaigns taking advantage of satellite Earth Observation technologies.
The key will be the use of remote, economic, and real-time information from satellites analyzed through the use of Artificial Intelligence algorithms to provide metocean and forecast data to blue economy stakeholders.
