As NerdWallet established itself as a leader in SEO, consistently achieving top rankings for many pages, the focus shifted to optimizing revenue through performance marketing pages—paid placements typically at the top of Google search results. To maximize revenue potential, NerdWallet accelerated A/B testing across all key verticals, including credit cards, mortgages, auto insurance, banking/investing, personal loans, and student loans.

Summary

NerdWallet launched a new performance marketing pod, and I joined as the founding designer. The pod worked on fast-paced timelines, delivering 10-15 designs per quarter, with a focus on low-effort, high-impact tests aimed at optimizing performance marketing outcomes. This case study highlights 3 A/B test winners across three different performance marketing verticals - credit card, mortgage, and auto insurance.
