Lead Magnet + Upsell Funnel Build for Dr. Gretchen Petterway, MD (All Things Dr. G)

Overview

Dr. Gretchen Petterway, MD, FAAP approached me to create a high-converting lead magnet funnel for her parenting audience, built entirely inside Kajabi.

The goal was twofold:

Launch a new free guide: 10 Common Parenting Language Mistakes That Can Hurt a Child’s Self-Esteem (And What to Say Instead)
Strategically introduce her new children’s book, I Am Cool, with an optional Parent Workbook upsell on the thank you page.
This needed to be done quickly, affordably, and without sacrificing clarity or conversion.

The Challenge

We had three core constraints:
Tight timeline
Budget-conscious execution
A sensitive topic requiring warmth, credibility, and trust
And one key business objective:
Make the upsell feel like a natural next step, not a sales push.
Parents downloading the guide are already thinking about confidence and language. The book and workbook needed to feel like the logical continuation of that conversation.

The messaging centers on everyday language shifts, emotional safety, and confidence-building for children ages 3–8.
No fluff. No guilt-based marketing. Just clarity and practical value.

2. Strategic Thank You Page with Upsell

Instead of a generic “check your inbox” screen, we used the thank you page as a conversion opportunity.
The structure:

Pattern interrupt
Emotional bridge into the book offer

Clear benefits for both child and parent

Simple, low-friction CTA
The workbook is positioned as reinforcement for the guide and book, not an add-on gimmick.
