Breaking the Mental Health Taboo in Panama: A Research & UI Design Proposal
This mental health app is a proposal I developed during my time at a college in Panama to address the growing issue of mental health in the country. The app’s mission is to break stigmas surrounding mental health and encourage individuals to seek help in a safe, supportive environment.
Key Features:
Anonymous or named access to book online appointments with professionals.
A free essentials package with relaxing videos, sounds for sleep and anxiety, and informative articles addressing misconceptions and stereotypes.
A companion-like experience to guide users on their journey toward courage and awareness.
I conducted thorough research and crafted the app’s UI design to create an engaging, user-friendly experience that acts as both a resource and ally.
It prioritises simplicity, allowing users to select a date and time with just a few taps.

💡 Inspiration: Witnessing the daily struggles of those around me inspired me to design a solution to spread awareness and empower people to prioritize their mental well-being.
