About the project 💭

My role at Adyen required me to write a compelling case study for ROLLER, an innovative Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. ROLLER has revolutionized the way businesses in the entertainment and leisure industry manage their operations, and I was tasked with showcasing the transformative impact of integrating Adyen's payment solution into their platform.

Problem and Solution 🤝

In the fast-paced world of entertainment and leisure, ROLLER stands out as a game-changer. Their comprehensive SaaS platform combines ticketing, POS, CRM, and more, empowering businesses to streamline their operations and deliver exceptional customer experiences. However, to truly excel in today's competitive landscape, ROLLER needed a payment solution that matched their innovative spirit and customer-centric approach.
Enter Adyen—the industry leader in global payments. Adyen's advanced payment infrastructure seamlessly integrates with ROLLER's platform, enabling businesses to offer a seamless and secure payment experience to their customers. My job was to tell it to the world.

The Outcome

Situation:
ROLLER is a venue-management SaaS platform that supports over 750 attractions worldwide. Their platform serves a guest interaction every tenth of a second! Will Nicholson, Head of Global Payments at Roller, needed a solution that could help them better support their customers (the 750+ attractions) in creating frictionless guest journeys.
Pain:
With ROLLER's previous payments setup, they were facing:
Lack of local payment methods, hindering their international guests from using payment methods they were familiar with
Low authorization rates (due to fraud)
Delays in Roller’s customers being able to start processing payments (the 3rd-party providers they worked with controlled the entire merchant onboarding experience)
No single view of data on guests and their transaction history which led to less repeat guest visitations, ultimately losing out on more revenue.
In the end, Will decided to launch ROLLER Payments with Adyen for Platforms. What did this mean for ROLLER?
Impact:
By partnering with Adyen, Will has empowered ROLLER and their customers with:
More payment methods (from only offering 3 to now offering 38 with Adyen) - empowers guests to pay how they want to
Higher acceptance rates (auth rates grew from 87% - 94.5%) by lowering fraud with RevenueProtect
Faster customer onboarding (Now that Roller controls this and not 3rd-party providers, they went from onboarding customers in months to weeks with Adyen)
Real-time insights across sales channels - with Adyen’s Unified Commerce solution, ROLLER’s customers can use these insights to build better guest experiences, encourage repeat visitation, and most importantly, increase revenue.
