Project Overview

I designed and built The World of Heroes and Villains as the online home for my original fantasy franchise. The website introduces readers to the stories while providing an illustrated archive of characters, kingdoms, creatures, plants, magic, and noble houses.
The goal was to translate an extensive fictional world into a website that feels immersive and remains easy to navigate as new stories and lore are added.

The Challenge

The franchise includes multiple stories within a shared world, including the main series, The Briarhart Chronicles, and the separate novel The First Fracture. Readers needed a clear way to distinguish those stories while exploring the locations and lore connecting them.
The design also needed to reflect the franchise’s darker fairy-tale atmosphere, balancing rich imagery with readable text and practical navigation.

My Approach

I organized the website around two reader journeys: discovering the books and exploring the world. A searchable archive lets visitors browse by story, lore category, and region, offering several ways into a growing collection of entries.
For the visual direction, I combined deep green and charcoal backgrounds, gold accents, serif typography, and illustrated fantasy imagery. The homepage’s shadowed palace landscape and glowing foreground foliage establish the mood behind the tagline: “Every crown casts a shadow.”
Character pages pair framed portraits with concise introductions. Detailed field-guide pages use contents menus, illustrations, and reference panels to make longer worldbuilding entries easier to browse.

Key Deliverables

Custom homepage introducing the franchise and forthcoming fiction.
Searchable lore archive with story, category, and regional filters.
Character biographies with coordinated portrait treatments.
Illustrated location, flora, fauna, magic, and noble-house entries.
Consistent navigation, buttons, and footer across the website.
Connections to my writing resources and TWOHAVs Substack.
Publication and custom-domain connection at twohavs.com.

The Result

The completed website brings the franchise’s stories and worldbuilding into one cohesive reader destination. It gives visitors an introduction to the fiction, multiple routes through the lore, and a consistent visual experience across different types of content.
This project demonstrates my ability to combine creative writing, content organization, visual direction, and website development to turn a complex body of material into an accessible digital experience.
Tools: ChatGPT / Codex, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AI-assisted image generation, and Northwest Registered Agent for domain configuration.
