Today, buying a home is hard, opaque, and just plain annoying at times. Each stage of home buying has its own set of problems - going to see houses, finding an agent, getting a mortgage, making an offer, closing, lawyers! What if a mobile experience could combine all these actions into a fun, clean, and straight forward game-like application? I decided to create a mobile design concept for the brand Ribbon Home, a New York and Charlotte-based business, with the mission of creating a level playing field and improving the experience for consumers and realtors in the home buying process.
This app is a design concept around the annoying task of sifting through automated MLS listing emails you usually get from the real estate listing agents. Conceptually speaking, what if a one-of-a-kind algorithm matches you on what matters. What if you don’t have to go back and forth with sensitive negotiations and had the equivalent of a one-click purchase on Amazon or a “Buy it now” on eBay? What if this app experience would ask you personalized questions about things you desire in your dream home, connect you on what matters, and immerse you into the home as if you were there in person.
Ribbon Mobile: Swipe. View. Buy the house of your dreams.
