Étude Wellness | A design manifesto in immersive wellness experiences.

Étude was envisioned as a somatic sanctuary: a deliberate pause engineered to interrupt the frantic velocity of modern life. The mandate was to design a multi-sensory universe that begins at the studio’s physical threshold but lingers permanently in the guest's lifestyle.
As Creative Strategist and Experience Curator, my objective was to transition wellness from a clinical item on a calendar into an unhurried, sacred ritual of internal reconnection. The resulting ecosystem feels profoundly selective yet as emotionally comforting as returning home.
The vision:
The conceptual framework for Étude Wellness is deeply rooted in the original Japandi interior design style (a hybrid that blends the minimalist elegance of traditional Japanese aesthetics with the cozy, functional warmth of Scandinavian (Scandi) design), the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) — a discipline I have formally studied and integrated directly into the brand’s experiential narrative, and the growing need for spaces to decompress and actually get in touch with our health.
To achieve a true state of neurological grounding, the brand utilizes raw, ancestral ingredients for its products to modulate the body's energetic landscape. We selected Sarrapia (Tonka Bean) for its deep, resinous warmth to stabilize the nervous system, paired with dried citrus to actively regulate the flow of Qi (vital energy). Psychologically, the human brain decodes these specific scents as absolute signals of safety and relaxation, naturally lowering the heart rate and priming the consumer to enter a state of receptive, meditative calm.
The strategy: Full-circle experiential architecture
In the luxury wellness sector, true differentiation occurs when a brand transitions from a visual identity to a biological experience. For Étude, I directed a closed-loop product ecosystem where every consumable element works in tandem to cleanse the "energetic palette" of both the space and the individual.
The signature "simmer-to-tea" ritual: The centerpiece of the brand’s product strategy is a zero-waste botanical range composed of whole-flower lavender, rosemary, cinnamon, dried citrus, rosehip, and cloves. Designed to be simmered openly at home, the blend first releases volatile, health-giving aromatic vapors that perform a deep ambient aromatherapy. Crucially, unlike traditional potpourri, the mixture is entirely organic and potable — allowing the guest to ultimately drink the very infusion they have just breathed, completing a seamless, multi-sensory circle of wellness and drawing upon its botanical properties to the absolute fullest.
Sensory-rich artifacts: We engineered a series of organic wax aromatic candles designed for a dual tactile life cycle. When lit, they cast a soft, low-lux ambiance while diffusing custom botanical top notes. Once melted, the clean wax transitions into a warm, nutrient-rich, low-temperature body oil optimized for somatic massage and deep dermal hydration.
The cherry on top - our own incense line: Utilizing ethically sourced Palo Santo, this line was curated to serve as a psychological boundary marker. Burning the wood marks the exact transition from the chaotic external world to the internal Étude state of mind, keeping all sensory touchpoints entirely bespoke and curated in-house.
Visual identity & art direction: High-touch apothecary
The visual language balances the raw imperfection of nature with the disciplined minimalism of high design.
Typography & texture: The branding utilizes an elegant, fluid serif that mimics the organic curves of nature, contrasted against clean, structural layouts. This creates a visual tension that reads as both highly sophisticated and deeply grounded.
Packaging architecture: The physical collateral bridges the gap between raw organic substrates and high-touch luxury. Heavy, textured amber glass, minimalist monochromatic labels, and raw, tactile closures ensure that the simple act of opening a product becomes a mindful, tactile event.
From the creative's notebook
Because my daily operations involve developing proprietary systems and formulas for international clients in the health & wellness industry, I utilize complete, conceptual frameworks like Étude to demonstrate my capabilities in multimodality design and let my creativity flow.
