Engineered a custom catalog system for a VFX asset marketplace built on Shopify. The project required creating a scalable browsing experience similar to professional VFX platforms where assets can be explored through categories, subcategories, bundles, and individual items.

Shopify’s default product collections are designed for simple product catalogs. The client needed a much more complex structure where:

• Assets could be purchased individually • Bundles could contain multiple assets • Categories and subcategories serve as navigation only • The catalog layout remains consistent across all filters

This structure is not supported natively in Shopify.

Developed a custom catalog architecture using Shopify Liquid and custom front-end logic. The system organizes assets using a hierarchical structure while keeping the interface clean and scalable.

Key features included:

• Category → Subcategory → Bundle → Asset structure • Bundle sections displaying grouped assets • Video preview on hover for asset thumbnails • Infinite scroll browsing experience • Flexible navigation system for future expansion

The architecture was designed so the client can manage assets, bundles, and taxonomy without requiring developer support.

The final solution provides a scalable digital asset marketplace with a cinematic browsing experience and flexible backend management.
