BOARD HOUSE - BRANDING

WHO:

Board House will be a place of inclusion, joy, learning, and motivation. A place where people of all ages, skills and backgrounds can gather to not only skateboard, but spend time together. A healthy, safe, active culture created to provide long term positive experiences for members of the Central Oregon community and beyond. Board House is in the early stages of raising funds but has been quickly gaining traction with the community's support. They've also been doing events across Bend to gain traction in their end goal of making an indoor skate park in Bend, Oregon.

WHAT:

To create a fun, recognizable, and welcoming brand that will be used to represent Board House and their mission.

WHY:

Board House needed branding that can be used across many mediums: signage, merch, stickers, ramp decals, and event posters. This past year Board House has been very active in the community in Bend, through public events and skate camps for all levels of skaters.

HOW:

My role for this project was as a freelance designer. Board House came to me with a pretty simple idea that needed a "design touch". Their idea was straightforward, to merge a house with a skateboard but all I was provided was a sketch on a scrap of paper. Like most of my clients, I went through a couple iterations and they ended up loving two logo marks that they could use interchangeably. Overall what was created were two logos that had great brand recognition potential. That could be used on all types of merch, event posters, and signage. They feel welcoming to kids, teens, adults, and even the cool granny that wants to learn about skating.

Board House is in the early stages of fund raising so giving them a recognizable logo/s was extremely important. They now are a household name in Bend, OR.
