Clearpath starts with four inputs: take-home income, essential fixed costs, flexible spending and planned savings. It shows what remains and how much of income has been allocated.
Keep the arithmetic visible
In the fictional example, €2,500 income less €1,100 fixed costs, €600 flexible spending and €300 planned savings leaves €500. Spending and savings account for 80% of income.
Handle the awkward cases
The calculator explicitly handles overspending, zero income and invalid inputs. Its six existing tests passed during this portfolio review.
A companion workbook
The Clearpath Personal Budget Toolkit adds a monthly dashboard, transaction entry, category budgets, a bills register and instructions in an offline Excel workbook.
Stage and boundaries
The web calculator is a prototype; the workbook is packaged, before public sale. Neither connects to a bank. The cover is a calculation illustration using fictional figures, rather than an application screenshot.
