Who Are Roots Inspire?

Roots Inspire are a social enterprise based in the Netherlands that helps multinational organisations build their internal pipelines of ethnically diverse leadership, through tailored leadership programmes and community.

My Role

As an early team member, I took on various roles such as Community & Social Media Manager, Community & Events Manager, and Head of Partnerships. I had the opportunity to balance operational and strategic responsibilities in each position.

The Challenge

As Roots Inspire grew, it became clear that we needed to document processes and responsibilities to ensure smooth transitions for new team members. Without clear documentation, the onboarding process could become overwhelming and time-consuming.

My Solution

I created a replicable and scalable Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) framework to document roles and tasks, enabling new team members to quickly understand and adapt to their responsibilities. Recognising the need for a well-organised document bank, I also restructured and streamlined our Google Drive folders for easy access and improved efficiency.

The Impact

The SOP framework and restructured document system greatly enhanced our onboarding process. During virtual and in-person onboarding sessions with new team members, they expressed comfort in their ability to navigate their roles and responsibilities effectively. This streamlined process not only saved time but also improved retention by fostering a supportive environment for new starters.

I'm proud to have taken the initiative to implement these solutions, demonstrating my adaptability, proactive problem-solving skills, and ability to create structured systems that benefit the entire team.
