Project: Heetch VTC Service Implementation in Kinshasa in Collaboration with Hoja Taxis

During my apprenticeship at Hoja Taxis, we were solicited by Heetch, a popular ride-hailing company, to assist in launching their VTC (Vehicle for Hire) services in Kinshasa. My role in this project involved helping with the conversion of Hoja Taxis drivers to use Heetch’s platform, allowing them to take advantage of VTC job opportunities.

In Kinshasa, being a taxi driver is a well-paying job, as taxis are a widely used mode of transportation—even children use taxis for their daily commutes to school. Recognizing this, we knew that converting drivers to use Heetch would be a significant opportunity for them.

To promote the arrival of Heetch in Kinshasa, we organized a variety of events, including activations at the airport and local clubs, to raise awareness and create buzz around the new VTC service. These events were crucial in driving interest and onboarding both drivers and users to the platform.

My responsibilities included overseeing the driver conversion process as well as helping manage the events and marketing strategies designed to introduce Heetch to the Kinshasa market. The project was a key step toward modernizing the transportation landscape in the city, offering safer and more convenient options for passengers.
