Rooms is a spatial canvas for organising thoughts. Notes, tasks, links, and images drop onto an infinite canvas, where they can be arranged visually, connected with lines, and grouped into dedicated rooms. We designed and built it end to end, including the brand.
Most note tools are linear. Ideas arrive as a list, in the order they were typed, which loses the relationships between them. An infinite canvas solves that, but introduces its own problem: without structure, a canvas becomes a sprawl nobody returns to.
The Strategy
Give the canvas boundaries. Rooms act as containers, so the spatial freedom stays useful at scale rather than collapsing into one crowded surface.
The Solution
Objects sit anywhere on the canvas and carry meaning through position and proximity. Lines make relationships explicit where arrangement alone is not enough. Rooms hold each body of work separately, so a plan and a reading list never compete for the same space. v1 ships single-player, with the structure in place for collaboration later.
