Role: Lead Product Designer
Project Type: Freelance
Platform: iOS, Android, Web
Industry: Food Delivery, E-commerce
Project Overview
FindChow is a food discovery and delivery platform designed to spotlight African food businesses in the UK, including restaurants, grocery stores, takeaways, and private kitchens. I led the entire end-to-end design of the platform’s ecosystem, which included three core applications:
Consumer App: For discovering, ordering, and tracking food.
Merchant App: For restaurants and food vendors to manage menus, orders, and performance.
Rider App: For delivery partners to accept, manage, and fulfil orders.
Execution & Crossover Highlights
1. Discovery & Research
I started with extensive user research, using surveys and interviewing target users including African food lovers, restaurant owners, and gig-economy riders. I mapped out detailed personas and journey flows to identify pain points in existing delivery experiences.
Cross-App Ecosystem Design
One of the major challenges was ensuring consistency and flow across the three apps. I built a shared design system in Figma to unify components, styles, and iconography. I also mapped out interconnected UX journeys, e.g., how a consumer placing an order impacts merchant and rider screens in real-time.
This cohesive design approach reduced confusion, improved onboarding time across all user types, and allowed for better scalability as new features were added.
2. Consumer Mobile App
Key Features:
Geo-based restaurant & grocery discovery
Smart search with categories & filters
Seamless checkout with promo codes & Apple/Google wallet integration
