Coast Restaurant is a virtual eatery inside the world of "ROBLOX." If you're new to ROBLOX, think of it like an app store where people create and share their own games. In my case, I've created a game where players can take on the roles of servers or customers in a restaurant. People from all over the globe can come in, order dishes, and enjoy the experience, whether they're playing as staff or customers.
Over the past few years, we've built a friendly community with over 750,000 members. Our games have been visited over 15 million times. This shows that our restaurant experience on ROBLOX is loved and enjoyed by many, and it's worth noting that our staff are all individuals who participate for the fun of it and are only rewarded through customers which have the ability to 'tip' them in-game with robux (Roblox's digital currency).

How Coast Utilizes Digital Marketing

(TikTok)

Every few months, I organize community-driven TikTok competitions with the aim of generating quick bursts of attention. These events are typically timed strategically to coincide with important game updates, new versions, and other significant milestones.
During these competitions, we offer a modest Robux prize to the winner. This adds an exciting element of competition as participants strive to create content that goes "viral" on TikTok, a popular social media platform. The goal is to attract a wider audience and boost our game's player count, leveraging TikTok's reach and engagement to achieve this. We also ask our participants use a different hashtag so we are able to easily locate a winner.

These competitions have resulted in us garnering a total of over 13 million views, as evidenced below.

We go beyond TikTok; Coast also operates a branded YouTube channel. Our team of highly trained staff produces long form YouTube-styled content to promote the game and provide our community with enjoyable videos to watch. Our channel has garnered over 385,000 total views and over 4,000 subscribers.

Coast's Concurrent Users

During the school year, Coast typically maintains an average player count of approximately 100. However, during the summer months, Coast consistently experiences concurrent player numbers ranging from 250 to 300. Coast Restaurant performs exceptionally well in terms of player count within its industry.

Coast Sells Digital Items/Powerups

Coast's primary source of revenue comes from in-game powerups, which not only enhance players' appearances and help them stand out in our virtual restaurant but also grant them the ability to instantly become a chef. We've achieved more than 54,500 sales of these in-game powerups. When we consider our marketplace, which I'll discuss shortly, our total digital sales across the ROBLOX platform exceed 200,000.

In addition to our game, Coast offers a variety of digital items created by Coast's developers. These items can be purchased and worn by players in any game on the ROBLOX platform. To date, we've generated over 1.8 million Robux from these items, which roughly equates to around 6,300 USD.

Coast Has Over 100,000 Trained Staff Members

In the past three years, Coast has provided training to more than 100,000 staff members. Our digital training sessions take place at our training center, where we instruct players on the preparation and cooking of dishes in a ROBLOX game. Additionally, we impart our expectations regarding their grammar and attitude when serving customers. To ensure that all wanted staff members are trained we host 5-8 training sessions per day which normally take up to 45 minutes to complete.

What is My Role at Coast?

As the Founder and Creative Director at Coast, my primary responsibility centers around gameplay aspects. I lead the coordination of teams comprising programmers, modelers, animators, sound designers, graphic designers, and UI designers. This ensures that our game maintains the highest industry-standard quality and remains up-to-date.

How is Coast Successful?

Coast's success can be attributed to various factors, including its frequent hosting of online events. These events encompass various activities such as playing other ROBLOX games or organizing weekend carnivals exclusively for Coast. Our highly-ranked public relations department, employed by Coast, manages these events and is compensated with robux, ROBLOX's digital currency.

Roblox Developer Conference (2021-2023)

In recent years, I've had the privilege of attending an exclusive Roblox Developer Conference in San Francisco. There, I had the opportunity to network with leading Roblox developers, connect with brands and creators, and gain a deeper perspective on my Roblox journey. During this event, I even had the chance to meet key figures, such as David Baszucki, the CEO and Founder of ROBLOX, as well as some of the most prominent game designers in ROBLOX history, including the minds behind games like Adopt Me, Jailbreak, and PIGGY.

International Travel (2023 Summer)

During the summer of 2023 I decided to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina for a month to meet up with my Vice President and plan for a new version which we hope to launch for Coast. Being in another country allowed me to further gain inspiration and think of how to grow Coast's audience to a more international audience rather than it being primary United States based.
