Planet Ventures - Branding & Webflow site

Selling something you can't photograph

You can't buy shares in Relativity Space. You can't invest in the startup building the first orbital power grid, or the one planning a lunar hotel for 2032. Those companies are private, and unless you're a fund, the door is closed.
Planet Ventures exists to open it. They're listed on three exchanges — Toronto, the US and Frankfurt — and their whole business is holding stakes in private space and aerospace companies, so anyone with a brokerage account can own a slice of that portfolio.
It's a genuinely interesting proposition attached to a fundamentally unphotogenic business. A holding company has no product, no factory, nothing of its own to show. And investor-facing sites carry a weight that marketing sites don't: get the tone slightly wrong and you look like a pitch rather than a company.

Borrowing the language of engineering, not marketing

The Investor Insight System team handled copy and content planning, and I was their main point of contact throughout. I brought in Julien Poirier for the branding — logo, look and feel — and the web design, while I shaped the direction through moodboards and feedback rounds, contributed to the design itself, and built the whole site in Webflow.
The visual answer was to look technical rather than cinematic. That is the perfect balance between space engineering and the financial market aspects of PV Inc. Space marketing tends toward the sublime; space engineering looks like grids, measured lines and restraint. We leaned on the second, using structure and line work to carry the personality, and let the portfolio companies supply the spectacle — because they genuinely have it and Planet Ventures genuinely doesn't.

Building it to be handed over

I built the site on the LUMOS framework, which is component-first and designed for marketing teams rather than developers. Then I recorded a set of training videos walking their team through it.
That last part wasn't in the brief. But a site like this changes constantly — new portfolio companies, news releases, updated investor presentations — and a beautiful site that needs a developer for every update is a site that slowly goes stale.

Where it landed

The site is live across all three ticker listings, and the Investor Insight System team runs it now. New portfolio companies get added as they're acquired, each with its own page, without anyone calling me.
That's the outcome I'd point at. I'm not needed, which is the whole idea.

My role & tools

Design direction, contributions to the web design, and the full Webflow build and handover. Julien Poirier led branding and web design. Investor Insight System handled copy and content planning as well as client management. Figma, Webflow, and the LUMOS framework.
