House on a Hill is a short term rental home. An invitation to reconnect with nature, explore the wonders of Big Sky Country and experience a slower, more intentional way of living.
House on a Hill open its doors to guests on June 2023. After a fully booked summer and a collection of stellar reviews, the owners wanted to provide a more personalized experience by creating its own website.
They wanted a website that felt as personal, warm, and intentional as the stay itself.
My approach was to create a visual identity for the vacation rental, highlighting not only in depth details about the property itself, but also offering insights into its surroundings and attractions nearby.
Industry:

Services and project scope:

Website design
Website development in Webflow
Website copy
Airbnb profile optimization
Social media design
The onwers wanted to make their guests feel at home before they arrived. And Airbnb limits storytelling. We wanted to showcase not just the house, but also the land, the silence and the feeling.
From concept to execution, this was a full-brand build, not just a website.
Concept & Visual Direction
The visual identity was inspired directly by the landscape itself.
Typography and layout choices are intentionally spacious. Content breathes giving room to the images to take the centre stage. Nothing screams for attention.
The result is a visual system that feels calm, timeless, and rooted in place.

Website Experience
The website was designed as a slow scroll, mirroring the pace of the stay itself.
Key focus areas:
In-depth property details (without overwhelming)
Immersive photography
Local insights: nature, nearby attractions, things to explore
Clear but gentle calls to action
Instead of forcing a traditional booking flow, we implemented a pop-up modal that allows visitors to book via their platform of choice.
This keeps the experience intuitive while maintaining operational simplicity.
We added a Local Guide section featuring handpicked restaurants, breweries, nature spots, and nearby attractions. Designed to help guests fall in love with the area, not just the house.

Outcome
A fully realized brand identity for House on a Hill
A website that serves as the first step to your holiday retreat
A stronger sense of ownership over the guest experience
A digital presence that supports both booking conversion and brand storytelling
In addition to the professionally shot home photography, all other photos and videos featured on the website were captured and edited by me during a month-long stay at the property while completing the project. Allowing the brand to be built from lived experience.
