NoteFury is a free web-based app that solves a real problem that has plagued guitarists forever: learning note locations on the fretboard.
Perhaps the most boring aspect of guitar education is learning where all of the notes are on the guitar neck.
There are a potential of 150 note locations across the entirety of a guitar neck with 24 frets and 6 strings. But there are only 12 unique notes!
All F Note Locations on a 24 fret, 6 string guitar.
These notes are seemingly littered throughout the neck. On average, each note exists 12.5 times throughout all of the strings and frets.
Most guitarists never learn note locations, but it's a must if your goal is to become a great improvisational guitarist.
That's why I built NoteFury.com. It makes learning note locations fun and engaging through repetition.
The full project took 6 days of intense work, involving multiple technologies and processes.
From the identity design, to UI/UX design, and development in Cursor -- it was truly a full stack experience.

The Challenge
The biggest challenge involved in properly calibrating the Web Audio API to detect notes. This process involved instructing cursor to integrate a temporary configuration UI that allowed me to manually adjust various pitch/frequency detection parameters until everything was properly dialed in.

As an active guitarist, I had a strong hunch people would enjoy this app. I posted it on Reddit's r/guitarlessons and received a lot of great feedback:
