Objective:
The objective of the project was to create a visually engaging presentation that effectively communicated GROW!—a 10-strategy framework for maximizing leadership potential. The goal was to provide an educational tool that would inspire and guide attendees in leadership skills and personal development.
Context:
This presentation was developed for a leadership breakout session featuring David Rendall, a recognized leadership speaker and author. The session targeted professionals looking to enhance their leadership capabilities through practical strategies. The content emphasized a balance between self-leadership and leading others, reflecting Rendall's philosophy on personal growth and influence.
Challenges:
The main challenge was organizing a large amount of content into a structured, easy-to-follow presentation while keeping the audience engaged. Each strategy required a unique visual treatment to highlight its key concepts without overwhelming the slides. Additionally, integrating quotes and personal insights from influential leaders had to be balanced with the presentation’s core message.
Process:
To address these needs, I structured the presentation into two clear sections: self-leadership (Me-First) and leadership for others (Then-Others). I applied a consistent slide layout to each strategy to maintain visual continuity while using typography and color to differentiate quotes and main ideas. Images and icons were selected to support the themes, enhancing engagement and reinforcing the content.
Learnings:
This project underscored the importance of slide clarity in live presentations, as a clear visual hierarchy helps audiences quickly grasp key points. I also learned more about balancing informative content with visual elements to maintain engagement while conveying complex ideas effectively.
