Como Women FC — Building a Social Media Department from the Ground Up

Head of Social Media for Como Women FC, Serie A Femminile.
From strategy and planning to content production, sponsor management, and milestone campaigns — including the Nike kit launch and the Alisha Lehmann announcement.

✨ The Brief

Como Women FC brought me in during a pivotal moment: a change in leadership that required professionalising the club's digital communications from the inside out. The challenge wasn't just content — it was building the infrastructure behind it.
Through a thorough audit of existing channels and the implementation of a structured publishing system and sponsor coordination framework, I was able to deliver not only strong content during my time with the club, but a solid, scalable foundation for the team taking over the following season.

✨ What I Did for Como Women FC

I led the full structuring of the club's social media department from the ground up. My role covered the entire cycle: content strategy, monthly planning, production, publishing, and performance reporting — alongside sponsor content management and campaign execution for the season's biggest moments.
The goal: build a professional, consistent, and distinctive digital presence for a club with serious ambitions in European women's football.

✨ About Como Women FC

Como Women FC is the women's team of the historic Como 1907, competing in Italy's Serie A Femminile. With a bold vision and a genuine commitment to elite women's football, the club invested in infrastructure, high-profile signings, and top-tier partnerships — quickly establishing itself as one of the most exciting projects in European women's football.

✨ How I Structured the Department

01. Audit & Strategy Full audit of existing accounts, definition of content pillars, communication tone, and platform-specific goals. Built a strategy aligned with the sporting calendar and the club's audience profile.
02. Planning & Editorial Calendar Monthly calendars with a strategic mix of matchday content, sponsor activations, behind-the-scenes, player-focused content, and milestone campaigns. Coordinated with the communications team and on-field staff.
03. Production & Publishing Content creation and editing across all platforms — from Reels and Stories to institutional posts. Full ownership of the approval and publishing process.
04. Sponsor Partnerships Managed all sponsor-linked content: organic integration into the editorial calendar, activation deliverables, and performance reporting.
05. Social Media Focus Content Developed original formats built for engagement — player series, club storytelling, and TikTok and Instagram native formats tailored to the women's football space.

✨ Campaign Spotlight

Nike Kit Launch —

Coordinated and executed the official kit launch campaign in collaboration with Nike, in partnership with OneFootball. A high-impact moment that required tight alignment between the club, the brand, and the platform to maximise reach and visual consistency across all channels.

Alisha Lehmann Announcement —

Led the campaign for the signing announcement of Alisha Lehmann, one of the most followed footballers on social media globally.
The publishing strategy and chosen formats allowed the club to capitalise on the media impact of the signing and insert Como Women FC into the global women's football conversation.
Content creation, edition and publishing coordination for the BTS video in collaboration with One Football.
