Public multimedia catalog so Sardinia’s cultural collections are searchable in one place

Problem. Sardinia’s digital heritage lived across scattered archives and uncoordinated systems. Citizens, researchers, and institutions needed a single public entry point with effective search and multimedia browsing, built for high traffic and mixed audiences.

Solution. Work covered information architecture, collection search and navigation, multimedia content management, and performance at scale on a Next.js institutional stack. Scope included coordinating the team and delivery path through third party partners rather than claiming sole authorship of every layer.

Result. https://www.sardegnadigitallibrary.it/ is the public channel to explore Sardinia’s digital heritage: advanced search across images, video, audio, and texts, collection previews, filters by type, place, license, and similar content discovery. Collections are open to consult instead of locked in separate archives.
