Reddit: Creating a safer space for users

Unfortunately, due to NDA and the nature of my work I am unable to share any specific details or images of projects I worked on while at Reddit. During my 3 years at Reddit I was the sole designer serving the internal tools safety team. I managed, improved, and built out new tooling that helped with workflows such as ticketing, user/community investigations, and even internal auditing. Created and documented an internal tools designs system library based off of Reddit's constantly evolving design system but optimized for creating tools rather than social media apps.

Influenced team strategy by writing a vision and mission for the safety tools team based on values I considered important for the team to have.

Co-wrote the roadmap and milestones for a new user/subreddit investigative platform for internal Reddit employees that was crucial in the companies IPO preparations. Aligned engineering and design teams while breaking down the massive project into manageable user workflows we could tackle.

Designed review processes for all new content types introduced for Reddit while I was there, like media galleries, chat, live audio rooms, etc.

Re-designed and streamlined multiple admin review processes, including but not limited to recognizing a bad user, detecting suspicious IP activity, reporting illegal content to governmental authorities, and legal copyright claims

Designed and tested a blind quality and audit system so that safety employees could track the accuracy of their safety and policy decisions across teams and per agent.

Conducted audits, discovery research, usability testing, and team brainstorms for all projects launched by the internal tools team.

Through many resarch and shadow sessions, became the team's expert regarding the differnt safety teams at Reddit and their different wants and needs as users. I facilitated communication with other product teams, ensuring customer needs were considered and coordinated efforts within the tooling ecosystem.
