Website Design & Development for an Automated Billing Platform

Overview

Module is a B2B billing and revenue operations platform for fintech and SaaS. We designed and built a SaaS website that reads as technically credible to finance and revenue buyers, combining strategic web design, UI/UX design, and product design with a design bar comparable to the best product companies.
The project focused on creating a technically credible website design that could communicate a complex billing platform clearly while maintaining a strong, conversion-focused experience.
Project Type: Web design, UX Design Client: Module Sector: B2B Billing & RevOps Scope: Marketing website, design system, content

The Problem

Module is a deep product. It spans eight modules across the configure-to-cash lifecycle, from pricing and packaging through CPQ, metering, billing, payments, revenue recognition, and reporting, powered by a contract-modeling engine called Continuum.
The audience is skeptical: CFOs, COOs, RevOps and Ops leaders who dismiss anything that looks like marketing fluff.
The founders had a website that could not carry that weight. Generic SaaS templates either oversimplified the product and lost credibility with finance buyers, or buried the reader in features with no clear story.
They needed a SaaS website that explained a genuinely complex system clearly, held a high UI/UX design standard, and still sounded like it was written by people who understand billing.

In short: Communicate a complex, finance-grade product without dumbing it down, at a design standard that earns trust on sight.

How we solved it

We treated the site as a product surface, not a brochure.
Every page was grounded in real billing and revenue workflows: invoices, journal entries, metering, dunning, and rev-rec schedules.
Copy used real accounting language such as ASC 606, IFRS 15, SSP allocation, deferred revenue, and RPO, so finance readers recognized their own world.
Instead of static mockups, we built one UI design system and a set of reusable, interactive components that demonstrated the product rather than simply describing it.

Our Process

The work ran as a tight, repeatable loop. Structured briefs came in page by page. We asked questions before building, shipped structure fast for a decision, then took targeted corrections.
The process combined web design, UI/UX design, and product design to ensure every page was both visually consistent and grounded in the product's actual workflows.
Anything already approved was preserved exactly across revision cycles.
Brief: Section-by-section direction with reference screenshots for aesthetic intent.
Clarify: Questions resolved before any pixels, especially on domain accuracy.
Build Structure: Full page or component built to spec for a fast structural approval.
Correct Visual Form: Targeted revisions with clear reasoning; form decisions then locked.
Rebuild to Spec: Rebuild the affected part only; untouched sections stay identical.
Integrate: Standalone sections composed into complete, self-contained page builds.

Initial Explorations

Exploring the Visual Direction

Early direction tested a different visual language and a set of candidate interactive pieces, benchmarked against references we admired for aesthetic and structure.

Visual Direction

Typescale

We initially explored Geist as the primary typeface before refining the visual direction and ultimately selecting Haffer as the final typeface for the system.

Color Guides

We developed a focused color system to give the website a distinct visual identity while maintaining clarity across product UI, interactive elements, and content sections.
The palette was carefully applied across backgrounds, UI components, data visualizations, accents, and interactive states to create consistency throughout the experience.

Making Complex Data Visual & Interactive

From animated charts to interactive product sections and custom illustrations, we designed visual experiences that make Module’s complex billing workflows easier to explore and understand.

Responsiveness & Cross-Device Experience

The website was designed to maintain a consistent experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile. Complex layouts, interactive components, charts, and product visuals were carefully adapted to smaller screens without compromising usability or visual hierarchy.
The responsive approach focused on:
Flexible layouts and components
Mobile-friendly navigation
Responsive charts and interactive sections
Optimized typography and spacing
Preserving key product information across screen sizes
Maintaining consistent visual hierarchy across devices
The goal was to ensure the SaaS website feels polished and intuitive regardless of how users access it.

The Final Outcome

The final UI/UX design combines;
Product storytelling
Interactive product demonstrations
Structured conversion-focused website experience.
